Aishite Aishite Aishite Kayak-san!!!

Me in My Kayak

My Recipe for a River

Just kidding, I'm human...and until today, I never coughed and sneezed so much in my life. As the very last day of STEMmersion, we went kayaking. We went back to the Narrows and this time got in the water. It was a bit tiring to paddle at first, but then it got easier and easier. It was a pretty good arm workout. The most challenging part was when I got stuck in the rapids. I thought I had missed the point where we had to turn back, so I tried, but the currents were too strong. I had to pull to the edge of the bank and pull my kayak to where the rapids began. As I was going back, I saw the other people in my STEMmersion coming towards me. We ended up stopping at an island by While kayaking I tried to listen deliberately. It was completely quiet except for birds and trees rustling. It seems like human live life quickly but animals live life slowly. They live it without any responsibility so I think that contributes to it. Over all I had fun today.

And considering the fact that I went swimming in an algae filled river, I'm definitely taking I shower when I get home. Also something I noticed. All shells smell really bad! All though, the one I collected today is more clean than the others I collected yesterday because it smells like day-old fish, not a rotting corpse. I'm cold and now I really want chicken soup and blankets. That sounds so good right now.
